PREDICT Open Source Intelligence Team

PREDICT Open-Source Intelligence Team or POSIT is an open-source intelligence (OSINT) team at New Mexico State University. POSIT is part of NMSU's Center for Animal Health, Food Safety, and Bio-Security of the Agricultural Experiment Station at the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. POSIT is composed of undergraduate and graduate student analysts, contributing analysts, and team directors. The team uses OSINT techniques to collect and analyze global events and activities and then assesses the inherent risk of relevant events to certain items entering the United States.[1][2][3]

History

The OSINT branch of PREDICT has been in operation since 2004.
